Considering this is a student based project it had me thinking about a project I did on foundation which I have never forgotten. At the time it was pretty much a disaster so I thought that 20+ years later I would give it another go.

Using only purple, yellow and white we had to make a painting in greyscale. According to my tutor, if the balance was correct (along with enough patience)’ I should be able to make grey with just purple and yellow, then by adding white you could get varying strengths.

This was my first trial, currently without white. I have used gouache, as a did then.
